I think that my group did well on our final presentation for lit and performance. When we first started filming, my group had a lot of work to do. We were in memorized and it didn't have much humor in the script. We all had things we needed to work on. The first video had helped us realize where we needed work and things we needed to add to certain spots. Our comedic timing needed to get better.
In the first video I talked super fast and I was awkward. I didn't know how the script should go or when I should move. I was really confused on the emotions my character should know being. However, after a lot of work, I was able to become more comfortable with my character. After watching my first video, I realized that I needed to more comedic aspects into my character, and bring up my energy. In order to do this I ad-libbed a lot. This allowed me to have funnier moments with Patrick. Taylor who played Patrick was able to have realistic and comical moments when he reacted off of my improve. Patrick also created lines, therefore he would get more annoyed at my pestering off him. In the beginning of the scene, I would ask a million questions about how Patrick's day was, and Patrick would react back with annoyance and push me away. We did this in a funny way so that the audience would laugh. The rest of my group also ad-libbed at times. When things got award silence, someone would say something to fill in the blanks. This made the whole scene lighter and funnier.
Fir the final project my group did extremely well. We worked together to form the relationships that exist in the script. We worked passed the complications in our first script and were able to come together for the final. We each critiqued each other on errors in order to grow to create better characters. I think this is what made our group better. For example, people critiques me in slowing down, so I didn't talk so fast. In the final script I did just this. Or for wiebke and Bryn we said to add more comedy and stupidity to their characters. They did a great job in working off each other after we made the correction. All of us fixed out mistakes and brought it together as a whole in the end.
Overall, I'm extremely happy with our group. It went a lot better then I thought it was. We became extremely prepared and familiar with the script. I did not expect us to do as good as we did. After the first draft I was a little worried, but with self criticism and practice we created a better script. We managed to pull it off and work together as a group.
